2 – Pedagogic aims
The discipline of PRM should give the student:
* Knowledge of the concepts “impairment, disability, handicap” and an understanding of the principles of rehabilitation medicine.
* Identify the specificities of clinical history in rehabilitation medicine, the ability to identify impairments and disabilities, use a functional approach (pain, range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, tonus, posture, daily life activities, …), knowledge about environment (architectural barriers, accessibilities).
* Knowledge the use of pharmacological agents, physical agents, therapeutic exercise, prosthesis, orthotics and walking aids.
* Knowledge oh the main guidelines in rehabilitation programmes in neurological, rheumatic, orthopaedic, trauma, respiratory and cardiac, geriatric, postural and sports pathologies.
